In 1973, Mr. Ram Bapat [Chairman - Jayashree Group] decided to introduce an import substitute to the Indian market and started the activity with a patented product ‘Electro-Dynamic Speed Switch’. With this, the dream of import substitution was realized in those first euphoric days.
This laid the technological foundation for the other Jayashree products. Expanding from the manufacture of one small product, practically, a new product was developed every year. New associate companies were formed over the period to produce different types of products.
A team of technocrats including Mr. Ram Bapat , Mr. D.G Dabke and Mr. Kelkar along with a team of qualified engineers developed and pioneered the design and manufacturing of various electrical and electronic products over the years and the Jayashree Group became the 1st company in India to introduce 100 % indigenized solutions with respect to the following products:

>> Conveyor Safety Switches &
>> Soft Starters
The 1st medium voltage Soft Starter was designed and manufactured in India by the Jayashree Group in 1978.
With the continuous development of the products, the Group focuses on developing products strictly as per the International and domestic standards [IEC/IS/BS] to meet the right Technical Specification and Quality.
Today Jayashree, a group of 3 companies has a strength of over 300 employees and a work area of more than 5000 Sq Mt spread over 4 locations in a vicinity of 1 km radius.
Further, with rapid growth and addition of several new control products, the Group also decided to enter into Power Electronics and adopted the Microprocessor Based Technology. To fulfill the technical demand of the market, Jayashree Electron entered into a collaboration with Fairford electronics [UK] for the manufacture of Electronic Soft Starters in 1989 [Fairford Electronics has the patent of the electronic soft starter] and thus today Jayashree is the only company in India which manufactures the complete range of Soft Starters [ HFSR type as well as Electronic Type ] under one roof.
Jayashree has been catering to the needs of the Industry, primarily for the Major Infrastructure Pumping Projects, Power Plants, Atomic Research Center, Chemicals, Heavy Electrical, Steel & Mining, Machine Tools etc. by installing Jayashree Electron Make Models - HFSR [ soft starter based on IEC 60289 / IS 5553 ]and Microstart [ Soft starter based on the IEC 60947-4-2 /IS 13947-4-2]
