Micro start can be used practically in every fixed speed applications. The typical range for the motor ratting covered by Micro start is from 0.1KW to 1500KW. 400 to 690 VAC

But there are certain specific applications which benefit the most from Microstart. They are mentioned below:-

1. Crusher / Conveyor belts: These applications, where the Starting torque requirement is very high, make use of ‘Kick-Start’-a unique feature of microstart. Here microstart generates a pulse to trigger the acceleration and then slowly ramps up the motor to the full speed of the equipment.

2. Compressors: Compressor is a typical application where energy saving can be achieved to the maximum with the help of Microstart. Microstart automatically senses the actual load requirement and optimizes the supply and the power factor to save energy during partial loading as well as in idle conditions.

3. Pumps: A Typical problem with the pumping systems is the water hammer effect. The Microstart feature - “Soft Stop” take care of this problem when the pump needs to be stopped by gradually reducing the pump discharge which in turn eliminates the water hammer effect.

4. Mixer: It is a typical continuous high torque application. Here microstart can be used to smartly manage the starting torque requirements.
